Stern's was a NY/NJ chain based in Paramus,NJ owned by Federated department store's. It opened in the late 1860's and was dropped in 2001 by Federated in favor of Macy's and Bloomingdale's. In the late 1990's some Stern's opened up in former Abraham and Straus locations such as Eatontown,NJ,Massapequa,NY,Nanuet,NY and Lake Grove,NY

A former Stern's Store at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City,NY it is now a Dick's sporting goods store.

A another former Stern's store at the Bergen Mall in Paramus,NJ which converted to Macy's in 2001 closed in 2006 and now is a Century 21 store.

did you know the late President Gerald Ford visited the mall during his Presidency He must have wanted to do some shopping.

A Stern's store at the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne,NJ with the Stern Brothers sign on it It was converted to a Bloomingdale's in 2002.

The Store that started it all in 1867, the original store on west 23rd street in NYC the bottom floor is home to the cities first ever Home Depot store.

Ocean Township-Seaview Square Mall-closed in 1999 demolished in 2000 opened as a Target Greatland in 2001

Eatontown-Monmouth Mall-Former A&S store. closed in 2001 and now Boscov's

Woodbridge-Woodbridge Center Mall-Converted to Macy's in 2001

Bridgewater-Bridgewater Commons-Converted to Bloomingdale's in 2002

Toms River-Ocean County Mall closed in 2001 and now is Boscov's

Wayne-Willowbrook Mall closed in 2001 and converted to  Bloomingdale's in 2002

Wayne-Preakness shopping center-converted to Macy's in 2001

Paramus-Bergen Mall(now Bergen Town Center) converted to Macy's in 2001 closed in 2004 and now a Century 21 store.

Jersey City- Newport center Mall-converted to Macy's in 2001 closed that store to move into a new one and opened as a mega size Kohl's in 2006

South Plainfield-converted to Macy's in 2001

Vorhees-Echelon Mall former Lit Brothers and Gimbel's.closed in 2001 and now a Boscov's

Ledgewood-Ledgewood mall-converted to Macy's in 2001

South Brunswick-South Brunswick Square converted to Macy's in 2001 closed and is now a Home Depot

Paterson- former Quakenbush store closed when the Willowbrook Mall store opened and is now closed

Moorestown-Moorestown Mall former Gimbel's and is now Boscov's

West Orange-Essex Green Mall-converted to Macy's in 2001
