Steinbach's was best known as being the store by the shore. This chain was based
out of Asbury Park,NJ and had multiple locations throughout New Jersey and New York. In 1986,Steinbach's bought out the Ohrbach's
chain to convert most of the stores in the NY/NJ area but sadly like Abraham and Straus,Hahnes,Bamberger's and Stern's
this chain closed most of its stores in 1995 and left three open until the chain went out of business in 1999

Red Bank- closed in 1999 opened as the Bon Ton closed in the 2000's and
is now Garmany
Manalapan-Manalapan Mall closed in 1996 and is now Value City
Woodbridge-Woodbridge Center closed in 1995 demolished and reopened as Lord
and Taylor in 1996

Wayne-Willowbrook Mall closed in 1995 and reopened as Lord and Taylor in

Paramus-Bergen Mall(now Bergen Town Center) closed in1995 reopened
as Value City and is now Closed and will now be a Target
