here is a pic of the Shore Mall store at Christmas Time back in 1994. At last I was reading, this store is to be demolished sometime this year.

Steinbach's was best known as being the store by the shore. This chain was based out of Asbury Park,NJ and had multiple locations throughout New Jersey and New York. In 1986,Steinbach's bought out the Ohrbach's chain to convert most of the stores in the NY/NJ area but sadly like Abraham and Straus,Hahnes,Bamberger's and Stern's this chain closed most of its stores in 1995 and left three open until the chain went out of business in 1999

Brick- closed in 1999 and is now the Bon Ton

Asbury Park- flagship store closed in 1979 in favor of the Seaview Square Mall store which opened in 1976

Ocean Township-Seaview Square Mall closed in 1996 and opened as Value City

Red Bank- closed in 1999 opened as the Bon Ton closed in the 2000's and is now Garmany

Manalapan-Manalapan Mall closed in 1996 and is now Value City

Woodbridge-Woodbridge Center closed in 1995 demolished and reopened as Lord and Taylor in 1996

Plainfield -now closed

Wayne-Willowbrook Mall closed in 1995 and reopened as Lord and Taylor in 1996

Paramus-Bergen Mall(now Bergen Town Center) closed in1995 reopened as Value City and is now Closed and will now be a Target

A former Steinbach's store at the Bergen Mall in Paramus,NJ which is now vacant soon to be a Target

this is a former Ohrbach's store that Steinbach's converted in the mid 80's at the Queens Center Mall in Rego Park,NY

here is the Manalapan store. A Steinbach that I visited a lot when I was living in Freehold.it is now a freestanding Value City

here is the former flagship store in downtown Asbury Park this store closed in the mid 70's after the Seaview Square Mall store opened a couple of minutes away

this is a former Steinbach store in Brick Township at the Brick Plaza now a Bon-Ton

The downtown Red Bank store.It closed in 1999 replaced by Bon-Ton and is now Garmany a Upsscale clothing store
